The Lockport Memorial Campus of Mount St. Mary’s Hospital opened its doors in October 2023 to serve the more than 80,000 residents of eastern Niagara County. The newly constructed, state-of-the-art “neighborhood hospital” features a fully-equipped 20-bed emergency department, a 10-bed inpatient medical unit (with the ability to expand to 20, if needed), an outpatient center with a variety of primary and specialty physician practices, and a wide range of diagnostic imaging, cardiac, and laboratory services. The 24/7 ER features advanced telemedicine capabilities and an adjacent helipad for emergency transport patients needing higher levels of specialty care. The imaging services include MRI, CT, ultrasound, general x-ray, nuclear medicine, and a dedicated Women’s Center offering mammography and bone densitometry. The growing outpatient center is home to a wide range of primary care physicians and medical specialists and features more than 30 exam rooms to meet the needs of residents throughout Niagara County.

Definitions

Nuclear Medicine

A medical specialty that uses radioactive tracers (radiopharmaceuticals) to assess bodily functions and to diagnose and treat disease. Specially designed cameras allow physicians to track the path of these radioactive tracers.
