Sisters of Charity Hospital

Established in 1848 by the Daughters of Charity, Sisters of Charity Hospital was the first hospital to open in Buffalo. Today, along with its St. Joseph Campus in Cheektowaga, NY, the 310-bed hospital offers a full range of medical, surgical, and ambulatory care services to the Western New York community. An area leader in women’s services, Sisters Hospital offers an array of obstetric and gynecological services, including advanced minimally invasive GYN surgery and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The hospital provides services for the entire family, including 24-hour emergency care, cardiac care, stroke care, a large primary care network including adult and pediatric services, an 80-bed skilled nursing facility offering long-term care, and one of the area’s leading vascular surgery programs.

Sisters Hospital is also one of the largest providers of substance-use treatment services in New York State. Clearview Treatment Services, an inpatient substance use treatment program for patients struggling with a substance use disorder, provides group counseling, one-on-one sessions, medication-assisted treatment, and discussion-based therapy. This program includes the insights and services of a clinical psychologist, psychiatrist, primary care doctor, RNs, and primary counselors.
